A sharp digital
presence. In weeks,
not quarters.
99Labs designs and builds brand identities, websites and apps, with AI workflows integration when needed. One studio, one accountable partner, from the first decision to launch and after.
- Identity, websites, web and mobile apps, AI workflows, ongoing care.
- Professional firms, founders and small teams that need to look credible and work properly.
- You work directly with the person doing the design and the build.
- Every project can ship in English and French.
Three ways to
work together.
Start with the smallest engagement that can produce a real result. Every project begins with a written scope and a fixed quote, so you know what you are paying for before anything starts.
Website Sprint
One-time project fee
A focused identity and a clear website that makes your business easy to trust and easy to contact.
- Logo, colour and typography: new, or a disciplined tidy-up of what you have
- Responsive pages, a written page structure and a contact route that actually works
- Accessibility and technical SEO foundations, with analytics set up honestly
- A simple AI workflow where it saves real time, such as sorting enquiries or drafting replies you approve
- Launch, handover and a walkthrough so you can edit the site yourself
Page count, revision rounds and dates are agreed before work starts. Online stores, customer accounts and complex integrations belong in Identity + Build.
Identity + Build
One-time, paid in milestones
A complete brand and a working digital product (website, web app or mobile app), designed and built as one system.
- Brand strategy, visual identity and a responsive logo system
- User journeys, interface design and a documented design system
- Web, web app or mobile development, tested and handed over with the source
- AI features and integrations that do a real job: voice or document capture, extraction, drafting, routing, always with a person approving the result
- Content structure, launch plan and documentation your team can use
Discovery decides whether this runs as one fixed project or as milestones. We agree a useful first release; further features and third-party costs are quoted separately.
Care + Growth
Monthly, recurring
Keeping a live site or app current, secure and improving after launch.
- Content, design and small functionality changes within an agreed monthly allowance
- Dependency updates, security patches, and uptime or error monitoring
- Performance reviews and corrections, technical and on-page SEO
- Accessibility and privacy checks as your site changes, and as the rules do
- Tuning and monitoring for any AI workflow we built, including its behaviour and running cost
- A short monthly note: what changed, what it cost, what to do next
A defined monthly allowance and response window, not unlimited work or 24/7 cover. Redesigns and new product areas are scoped as a separate build. No guaranteed search rankings.
Built fast. Kept sharp.
Fast now, and still here after launch.
Send us the problem and the deadline. You get a clear scope, a fixed price and a real date, usually in weeks. Once it is live, the same studio keeps it running.
Start a projectA small process with
visible decisions.
Frame
We agree what the business needs, who it is for and what a good result looks like. You get a written scope and a fixed quote.
Resolve
Direction, structure and the key screens are explored quickly, then narrowed to one system you approve.
Build
The approved design becomes a real, tested build. You see progress at planned review points, not only at the end.
Launch + care
Release, handover and documentation. Ongoing care continues only while it is genuinely useful to you.
AI in the build, and in how we build
We build custom AI workflows into what you ship: voice capture, document reading, drafting, routing, whatever takes real work out of a real day. Each one is scoped like any other feature, with defined inputs, a human approval step, tested behaviour and a running cost you can predict.
We also run AI across our own process, which is part of why a project takes weeks instead of quarters. It handles the fast, repetitive part: research, first drafts, exploring options, generating and checking code. The expert judgement and the coordination stay ours, and we do the work ourselves. Every direction, every line of copy and every release is decided and reviewed by a person before it reaches you.
Built to standards.
Kept compliant.
Compliance is not a document you file once. It is a set of choices made during the build, then kept true afterwards.
Accessibility
We build to WCAG 2.2 AA: real contrast, keyboard access, visible focus, sensible heading order, reduced-motion support and properly labelled forms. Ontario’s AODA rules apply to many businesses here.
Privacy in plain language
Your privacy notice describes what your site actually does, not a downloaded template. We keep data collection to what you genuinely need, and set up consent properly if you use analytics or advertising tools.
Built to your rules
Every sector and every project carries its own legal requirements. We work out which ones apply to yours, build to them, and keep the site or app compliant as they change.
Bilingual by default
Every page can ship in English and French, which matters for public-facing work in the National Capital Region and for Quebec’s language requirements.
Security and updates
Dependencies patched, admin access limited, backups defined. Under Care + Growth that stays true long after launch.
AI you can explain
If your product uses AI, we document what data goes in, where it is processed, what a person approves and what it costs, so you can answer a client’s question about it.
This is how we build; it is not legal advice. For regulated work in health, finance or the public sector, we work alongside your counsel or compliance lead and build to their requirements.
Based in Ottawa-Gatineau. Working anywhere.
The studio
99Labs is a small independent studio. Design and engineering happen in the same place, so how a business looks and how its website or app behaves get decided together instead of being passed between agencies.
Work runs remotely, in English and French, for clients in Ottawa, Gatineau and well past them. Projects have planned review points and a single point of accountability, so you always know who to ask.
Questions people ask first
What does a project cost?
It depends on scope, so there is no price list. You get a written proposal with deliverables, dates and a fixed figure before you commit. Website Sprints and builds are one-time payments; Care + Growth is a monthly fee.
How long does it take?
A Website Sprint is measured in weeks rather than months. A full identity and build depends on how much product there is. Real dates go in the proposal, and you hear early if anything moves.
Can you work with the website we already have?
Often, yes. We review the brand, the site and the code first, check what access and technology exist, then tell you honestly whether improving it or replacing it is the better spend.
Do you write the content?
We structure every page and write the core copy, in English and French. Specialist content, whether legal, medical or technical, comes from you or your expert, and we shape it to fit.
How exactly do you use AI?
For speed on research, first drafts, exploration and code. Not for decisions. Everything is reviewed before you see it. When AI runs inside your product, it is scoped, tested and documented like any other feature.
Who owns the work?
You do, once the project is paid. You get the source files and the accounts. There is no lock-in and no proprietary platform you have to keep paying us to use.
What happens after launch?
Take everything and run it yourself, or keep Care + Growth for updates, monitoring and improvements. Either is fine, and the monthly can be stopped with the agreed notice.
Ready to make
it sharp?
Tell me the business problem, what exists today and any deadline. You get a straight answer about whether 99Labs is the right fit, and a proposal if it is.
- What the business does, and who you want to reach.
- What exists today: a website, a brand, an app, or nothing yet.
- A deadline, if something is driving one.
- A budget range, even a rough one. It shapes the proposal.
